Who we are

What we collect and why
Orders and checkout. When you buy from us, we collect your name, contact details, shipping and billing address, and order details. We use these to fulfill your order, process payment, arrange delivery, handle returns and refunds, and meet our legal obligations, such as tax and accounting rules. Legal basis: performance of a contract, and compliance with legal obligations.
Accounts. If you create an account, we store your login details and order history so you can track and manage your purchases. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
The skin quiz and email. Our skin quiz asks a few questions about your skin to recommend products. Sharing your email address during the quiz is optional, and you can skip it and still see your results. If you do share it, we use it, with your consent, to send you our emails. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. Legal basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Support. When you contact us, we keep the correspondence so we can help you and keep a record of what was agreed. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in providing customer support.
Site usage and cookies. We use cookies and similar technologies to run the store, keep your cart working, and, with your consent, to measure how the site is used. You can manage non-essential cookies through the cookie banner. Legal basis: consent for non-essential cookies, and our legitimate interest in operating a functioning store for essential ones.
Our platform
Our store is hosted by Shopify, which processes your data when you visit and buy from us, including to provide services that draw on data from interactions with other merchants and with Shopify. Your information is shared with Shopify and with third parties that may be located in other countries in order to provide these services. Shopify acts under a data processing agreement, and you can exercise choices about this processing through the privacy controls on our site.
Who else processes your data
We share personal data only with service providers who need it to do their job for us:
Shopify hosts the store and processes checkout and payments.
Klaviyo sends our emails and stores email addresses and quiz-related preferences for people who have opted in.
Delivery carriers receive your name, address, and contact details to deliver your order.
Some of these providers process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, transfers are protected by safeguards recognized under the GDPR, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep your data
We keep order records for as long as tax and accounting law requires. We keep marketing data until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. We keep support correspondence for as long as needed to resolve the matter and keep a reasonable record of it.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, correct it, delete it, receive a copy in a portable format, restrict or object to certain processing, and withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@theshopforyu.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the updated version here with a new effective date.
